I’ve seen this movie two days ago with my friend. of course it was 3D and in short we enjoyed every moment of it.
The movie was 162 minutes and I didn’t know that, my friends and I missed the 1st 5 minutes from the movie, but still we got the whole story. I might be really smart, but I think everybody would understand the story. It takes place in another plant, another life, another creatures, a complete fictional place. and still, the story reflects a story we all know… Pocahontas. or maybe just a story that is similar: intellectual people (living in a modern world) discovering a new place that could make them rich and they can get advantage of it, not considering the natives, which are humans… or similar to them, they might be spiritual, and still they don’t get this idea… a forbidden love story takes place… and the rest is just action and adventure.
I have noticed that the humans in the movie, the researchers and the warriors are all Americans, white people and only white, as if it reminds us of the Europeans who came to America centuries ago. The newcomers who want to take control over a new land. about the notion of the human’s wanting to control and take. the notion of who has the power.
The feminisms in this movie was around the goddess they believe in and mother nature. a female spirit has the power.
and there was this one line that caught my attention, it was sort of like “i’m just a warrior that was fighting for peace, but I have to wake up from the dream now”. the movie literalize the notion of “waking up from the dream”.
Everybody has to watch this movie, it’s amazing. I want to watch it again!
